Our first HGV load with essential goods for Ukraine arrives at its destination in Poland today. Here are some of the goods ready to be shipped from our Hub in Dublin 15. There are now 2.5 million refugees who have passed Ukraine’s borders. #StandUpForUkraine
Humanitarian aid has started to arrive at the Hub in Dublin from our TPN Partners around the country. Everyone here at TPN is so heartened by the incredible response we’ve seen from our network, our customers, and the general public in Ireland. The quality of goods we’re receiving has to be acknowledged. Thank you so much from everyone at TPN. We will endeavour to get this out as swiftly and efficiently as we can to the locations that need it – on the borders, and in the towns receiving vast numbers of refugees fleeing the Russian invasion.
Due to the invasion of Ukraine, and the thousands of refugees it has created, there is a humanitarian crisis developing on the Ukrainian border. In an effort to help, Hendrick European, Virginia Transport, twenty members of The Pallet Network Ireland, and other Irish hauliers are arranging for the collection of essential goods to be shipped from Ireland to a distribution centre (Hrubieszowski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji) in Hrubieszow, a town beside the Ukrainian border in Poland.
Chief Executive of TPN Ireland and Independent Express Cargo Eamon Sullivan says: “No one can fail to be moved by the needless suffering of so many women and children fleeing war. Those of us in logistics have the resources, the contacts and the ability to help them and it is incumbent upon us to do so. We thank our customers in advance for their generosity in helping us provide some relief to these refugees.”
TPN Ireland is not at this stage requesting support from its English, Welsh or Scottish counterparts in THE Pallet Network, in case goods are delayed by the need for Customs clearances.
The Pallet Network members (listed below) have added to the existing drop-off points for essential supplies. We’ve included a list of required goods, and the drop off points around Ireland, as a PDF download here as it may be useful.
