By working together, our regional members can offer a more cost-effective, environmentally sustainable and operationally efficient service to their customers. It means they can offer a well-priced, overnight service anywhere in Ireland for your palletised freight and cartons.
It is the largest network in Ireland with unrivalled coverage and reach, with most of our members operating in single county territories. We operate from a €25 million hub facility with the capacity to handle 6,500 pallets per night. This is the largest of its kind in Ireland and is strategically located within two miles of the M50, Dublin Airport and the Port Tunnel.
How does TPN work?
TPN Members comprise 25 of the best independent transport companies in Ireland. Each of them collect and deliver palletised freight within their own area.
TPN Members collect pallets from their customers, and then consolidate and trunk that palletised freight to the Hub facility at Ballycoolin, Dublin 15, on double-deck trailers. The freight is unloaded at the Hub and placed into numbered bays representing specific postcode areas within Ireland, the UK, & Europe.
All the palletised freight we collect is scanned at each point of handling, which means our customers have full tracking visibility. Our proof of delivery (ePOD) system is award-winning and our IT system is sector-leading.
TPN and its Members put great emphasis on clear communication, which can take many forms – text messages, notes through our IT system, emails or a phone call.
After sortation at the Hub all pallets are loaded onto trunk vehicles destined for their specific postcodes and the vehicles return to the Members’ depots. On arrival at the depot, the freight is unloaded, checked and scanned again before being loaded onto vehicles and dispatched for delivery.
We operate to standardised procedures and we measure our performance across all depots with league tables, which are reviewed at our regular member meetings. Across Ireland and the UK, we operate a single tracking system with bar-coded labels, unique pallet numbers and digital imaged proof of delivery.
